Ghost white baby born without any blood

Oliva, now six months, was born completely white because she had such a low count of haemoglobin - the chemical which carries oxygen in red blood cells - that it could not officially be classed as 'blood'.

Mother Louise Bearman, 31, a barrister's clerk, told of her shock at giving birth to a "ghost white" baby whose condition was so rare she will now feature in medical text books.

Kobayashi downs record 337 wings (video)

Competitive-eating champ Takeru Kobayashi conquered Philadelphia’s annual gustatory gorge-fest by eating 337 chicken wings in a half-hour before a crowd of nearly 20,000 at Wing Bowl XX

Kobayashi claimed a $20,000 cash prize for his victory. It was the six-time Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest champ’s first time competing at Wing Bowl, though he consumed a cheesesteak in 24 seconds as part of an eating exhibition last year.

10-year-old Bellingham boy's hanging death ruled accidental

The death of a 10-year-old boy hanged at his home in Sudden Valley was ruled an accident Thursday evening, Jan. 12.

Caleb Kors, a budding circus and street performer, died two days earlier at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle from brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office.
